Director General, Railway Health Services, Railway Board addresses Indian Railway Pharmacists Conference
The two days 1st Indian Railway Pharmacists Conference – CME 2011 was inaugurated today at the Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, Secunderabad. Dr. V K Ramteke, Director General, Railway Health Services, New Delhi was the chief guest on the occasion while Sri M S Jayanth, General Manager, South Central Railway was the Guest of Honour. Pharmacists from all over India attended the conference.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. V K Ramteke appreciated the growth of Railway Hospital as a centre of Medical expertise.Highlighting the aspect that a Medical college and Nursing College are due to come up at Secunderabad, Dr. Ramteke expressed confidence that the Railway Hospital will convey the bench mark of excellence.He spoke about the vital role played by Pharmacists and stressed that patients who visit the Hospital should feel comfortable and secure which adds to their recovery. This will be the biggest achievement of the Pharmacists who are the eyes and ears of the Doctors. Dr. Ramteke also expressed his happiness that a Counseling unit is also set up at the Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, the first of its kind on Indian Railways, which will help in advising and counseling patients.
Earlier, Shri M S Jayanth in his address spoke of the brand image of South Central Railway which has developed into a distinct identity in all spheres.The General Manaager elaborated on the technology growth in the field of Pharmacy and wanted the Pharmacists to hone up their skills to match the same.In times to come, more than medicine, mind will deliver the results and hence Pharmacists shall work with zeal, human touch and the urge to care for patients.
Dr. R M Batwara, Chief Medical Director, South Central Railway in his welcome address expressed that the conference will provide a great opportunity for to Pharmacists from all over Indian Railways to interact and acquire knowledge on Pharmacy to keep pace with the developments.Dr. B Sudhakar, Medical Director, South Central Railway presented the vote of thanks.
A scientific exhibition was also organized on the occasion.
